CHALLENGE

Our communities are changing whether we like it or not.  How can we plan for positive change that benefits future generations?  Can tourism play apart in the economic success for the Queensland community?

The Bottom Line

Over a period of 3 months the team at Valé researched, tested and proposed ideas that could turn any community into a tourism precinct to drive the economic growth of Queensland.

OUTCOME

A comprehensive set of ideas - flexible public spaces, relaxed building zoning, connected communities, walkable communities.  Ideas that would take any mundane suburban city and create a network of unique tourism destinations.

Strategy

We saw our community suffering from poor planning decisions over several decades.  With our extensive experience in hospitality design we saw an opportunity to propose comprehensive research ideas that would guide the positive change.

Result

Our work was presented to Moreton Bay Regional Council, Australia's 3rd largest council, and received with enthusiasm.  Our work is continuing to influence our community and be a catalyst for positive change in how we can generate economic value from rethinking how our communities are planned.
